Blessings

In two days I will be on a plane going to Quito, Ecuador.  The Lord has blessed me so much by providing me with the resources I need.  This last Sunday I went to the 55th Anniversary of my home church in Arizona, Trinity Southern Baptist Church.  Afterwards, we had a church-wide potluck and one of the church members told me that she had known Nate Saint!  Nate Saint was a true man of God and one of the true heroes of the faith. Thinking about Nate Saint made me think about other great men of the faith I have had the opportunity to meet.  Dr. Matt Queen, Dr. David Mills, Dr. Mike Morris, Dr. David Johnson, Dr. Phil Calvert, and Dr. Charles Stewart are only some of the people I met with the same passion for the lost that Nate Saint had. It always amazes me that I am able to go to the place where about 60 years ago five young missionaries gave their lives sharing about the faith that meant so much to them.  There could be no greater joy or sacrifice then laying down your life so that another might live.

"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose."  Jim Elliot

Prayer Requests:
  •  Please pray that I would have opportunities to share the gospel while I am traveling to Ecuador
  • Please pray that I would really be able to connect with the nationals there and that I would have opportunities to share the gospel.  Also, please pray that God would lead me to people that are receptive to the gospel.

God’s Timing Is Always Perfect

The first time I was able to go to Ecuador was about 10 years ago.  About a year or so before that I had heard the testimony of Steve Saint, the son of one of the five missionaries killed in Ecuador, and Mincaye who was believed to be one of the Auca Indians that killed his father.  God used the stories and lives of these men to call me to go to Ecuador.  The last time I was in Ecuador was about 9 years ago.  I’ve wanted to go back ever since but it hasn’t worked out until now.  Maybe the reason is because I wasn’t ready.  The first time I went to Ecuador I was a different person than I am now.  I really had no idea what it meant to be a missionary back then.  I want to live my life every day, completely for Christ, not holding anything back!  I am excited to be a part of what The Lord is doing, and is going to be doing in Ecuador this summer!

In 17 days I will be in Quito, Ecuador! I wanted to thank all of you for your financial support, and for your prayer support most of all! Our God is mighty to save and I know that His desire for all of the people in Quito is that they would come to a saving relationship with Him.  Please pray for the people of Quito that they would come to know Jesus as He really is, and that they would realize He is the only one who can truly save them!

"And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.  And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'"  Matthew 28:18-20, ESV
